EXTENSION OF CLOSURE OF UNIVERSITIES AND INTER-UNIVERSITY CENTRES DUE TO SHIFT IN THE DATE OF THE GUBERNATORIAL AND HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS
Further to the extension of the date of Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections from 11th March to 18th March, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Vice Chancellor has, on behalf of Senate, approved that the closure of the University should be extended till 19th March, 2023 to allow staff and students participate in the elections. The period of registration with penalty (late registration) for the first semester 2021/2022 Academic session has therefore been extended till 19th March, 2023. This period of extension will further provide window of opportunities for students to complete their registration and continue with their online activities.
Those who provide essential services are exempted from the directive on extension of suspension of administrative and academic activities.
Full administrative and academic activities will resume on Monday, 20th March, 2023.
