The University Administration was in receipt of a circular Ref. No.
NUC/ES/138/Vol.64/178 dated 3rd February, 2023 from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on the above subject. The circular conveyed the directive of the Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, that all Universities and colleges Inter-Universities Centres be shut down effective from 22nd February, 2023 to 14th March, 2023, in view of the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.
Following this directive, the University Senate, at its 294th Special Meeting held on Friday 17th February, 2023 approved the closure of the University from Wednesday, 22nd February, to Tuesday, 14th March, 2023. The University will resume academic activities on Wednesday, 15th March, 2023.
Kindly note that the closure will affect only academic activities, while administrative activities would continue as staff would be on ground.
