Sequel to a joint meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of NLC and TUC, the NEC directed all affiliate Unions to join the National Protest scheduled for Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th February, 2024. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), as an affiliate of NLC has also directed all its Branches to participate in the protest in defence of the Nigerian workers and the labour leadership.
In view of the above, there will be absence of all academic activities (No teaching, No examination), and no attendance of any statutory meetings (Senate, Council, College/Faculty /Departmental Boards etc), conferences and workshops by members of the Union in order to fully participate in the protest.
Members of Congress are advised to remain resolute and await further information and updates from the branch Chairperson.
