The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Wahab Egbewole, has urged all 12,042 graduating students to navigate the nation’s current socio economic crises with critical thinking skills.

He made this call during the 39th Convocation Ceremonies held in the university’s multipurpose hall on Monday, emphasising that the hope for change largely depends on their ability to apply what they have learned in their respective fields.

In his address titled “No Longer Where You Were,” Egbewole noted the importance of graduates applying solutions to the diverse socioeconomic challenges facing society. He stated that their critical thinking abilities should be activated as the nation awaits the benefits of their education to improve conditions and restore hope for a better future.

Egbewole reflected on the significant changes the country has undergone over the past decade, noting the pressing need for problem solvers and innovative thinkers equipped with the skills developed during their training.

He encouraged the graduates to “hit the ground running” and make an immediate impact in their communities.
