FUPRE GETS NUC APPROVAL FOR NEW UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to introduce four new undergraduate programmes under its College of Petroleum Administration and Management.

The approval, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session, grants FUPRE the license to offer full-time B.Sc. degrees in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, Petroleum Information Management, and Entrepreneurship.

A letter dated February 25, 2025, and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, confirmed the NUC’s decision, following a rigorous resource verification exercise. The Executive Secretary of the Commission stated that after careful evaluation, FUPRE met the required standards to successfully deliver the programmes.

Reacting to the development, FUPRE’s Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor Akpofure Rim-Rukeh FNES, expressed gratitude to the NUC, describing the approval as a milestone in the university’s pursuit of academic excellence.

“This is a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering globally competitive education. These new programmes are designed to equip students with the expertise required to thrive in logistics, procurement, petroleum information management, and entrepreneurship. We are confident that our graduates will play key roles in advancing Nigeria’s economic sectors,” he said.

He further emphasized that the university is poised to make a lasting impact by preparing students for leadership roles in industries crucial to national development.
