The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has postponed the matriculation ceremony for newly admitted undergraduate students in the 2024/2025 academic session.
This decision was announced through a circular issued from the Vice Chancellor’s office, with Prof. S. A. Yakasai, Chairman of the Ceremonies Committee, involved in the decision-making process.
Initially, the ceremony was scheduled for March 19, 2025, at the management’s 5th meeting on March 4, 2025.
However, Mr Mas’udu A. Abdullahi, Academic Registrar, stated in the circular bearing his signature that “After deliberation, the management decided to reschedule the matriculation ceremony to hold on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.”
Additionally, Mr Mas’udu declared the new date lecture-free for 100-level and 200-level students to encourage active participation.
