AL-HIKMAH UNIVERSITY, ILORIN MATRICULATES 1,611 STUDENTS

On Thursday, 10th April 2025, Al-Hikmah University held its 20th Matriculation Ceremony, officially matriculating 1,611 fresh students into various academic programmes. The highlight of the event was the matriculation lecture titled “Path to Successful Academic Career of Undergraduate Students in an Islamic Faith-Based University: The Case of Al-Hikmah University”, delivered by Prof. Lukman Aribidesi Olayaki from the Department of Physiology, University of Ilorin.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Noah Yusuf, the new intake includes 1,302 UTME, 297 Direct Entry, and 12 Transfer students, with 30 pioneer Medical students enrolled in the MB, BS programme of the College of Health Sciences.*

This year’s ceremony was especially significant as it marked the valedictory outing of Prof. Yusuf, who is rounding off a remarkable five-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor.

In his lecture, Prof. Olayaki urged the new students to remain conscious of their academic purpose, value their time, honour the sacrifices of their parents, choose positive associations, and take full advantage of available learning resources — both digital and physical.
