NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF FEE DEADLINE
Aluta greetings from the Kunle Adepeju Building, University of Ibadan.
Over the past few weeks, we have engaged in robust, sustained and extensive deliberations with the University management on pressing issues like the subject of school fees, variances as reported in certain faculties and the initially announced June 6 deadline. All along, we have treated this issue with utmost priority, categorically rejecting the June 6 deadline and emphasizing that the 8-week window of payment was insufficient in the light of the economic realities of the country, while consistently pressing for a more accommodating timeline.
It is on this note that we announce that following our relentless engagement, we have secured a two-week extension. As against the initial June 6 deadline, the new deadline for payment of fees and course registration will now be Friday, June 20, 2025, and we believe this will allow additional time for our students to pay their fees. It becomes important to note that this deadline extension had been secured carlier last month through our strategic negotiations. However, we deliberately withheld public announcement to allow us work more closely with the Bursary Unit to fast-track the processing of outstanding refunds from the previous session. Our goal was to ensure that this extended window would be meaningful not just in principle, but in practical terms for students relying on those refunds to meet their financial obligations. We are glad to report that the refund process is now actively underway, and many affected students have begun to see progress, and all concerned will be finally sorted before the new deadline.
In addition, we have successfully secured the reversal of the studio fee charged to 300L, 400L and 500L. students of the Faculty of Technology, as well as students in the Department of Science & Technology Education under the Faculty of Education. We can as well confirm that these charges which were identified as
