FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, DUTSE SUSPENDS ACTIVITIES, COMMENCES STRIKE ACTIONS

Dear Colleagues and Students, this is to formally inform you that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Federal University Dutse Branch, has commenced a (14) days strike action with effect from midnight (12:01a.m.) on Monday 13th October, 2025, in compliance with the directive of the National Executive Council (NEC) of our Union

All academic activities including teaching, supervision, examination and attendance at statutory meetings are halted pending further directives from the National. The decision followed the failure of the Federal Government to honour agreements and commitments reached with ASUU on issues affecting the welfare of our members and Nigerian Universities.

We appeal for your understanding and solidarity as we collectively strive for the restoration and proper funding of the university system to ensure improved teaching, learning, and research conditions for both staff and students.

We urge all Academic Staff to strictly comply with the directive of the Union, and all students are advised to remain calm and await further communication on the resolution of the matter.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Yours in the struggle,

Dr. Salim Ahmad Branch Chairperson
