UNILORIN ORDERS STUDENTS TO UPLOAD PROJECTS ON NERD PORTAL

The University of Ilorin has instructed all graduating students to upload their final year projects on the National Education Research and Development (NERD) Portal — a new requirement for NYSC mobilization.

Students are advised to complete the upload process on or before Friday, 17th October, 2025.

According to the directive, the NERD portal will serve as an official database for academic reports and credentials. The process is entirely online, eliminating the need for physical submission.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO UPLOADING PROJECTS ON NERD

1. Register via ned.gov.ng/onboarding — portal opened on 6th October, 2025.

2. Upload your Project/Thesis/Dissertation through ned.gov.ng/login — upload portal opened on 14th October, 2025.

3. Institutions will handle the upload of results and certificates.

4. After submission, print your NERD Clearance Slip — this serves as valid proof for NYSC, employment, or embassy purposes.

*UPLOADING PROCEDURE*
After logging in, students must verify that their name, institution, and department are correct. Any error should be reported immediately to support@nerd.gov.ng.

Using the “Upload Thesis” and “Process Clearance” options, students are to:

Select the submission type (Project, Dissertation, Thesis, etc.)

Fill in the title, short summary, and keywords

Upload the signed Certification Page (with the supervisor’s and HOD’s signatures)

Copy and paste sections of the work — Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations, and References

Add at least one representative figure (up to ten allowed)

Optionally upload a full PDF version of the work

Once all fields are correctly filled, the system will automatically generate a compiled PDF for submission.

*NERD COMPLIANCE CLEARANCE*
The NERD Clearance confirms that a student’s academic report and credentials meet the national verification standard.

*TO PRINT YOUR NERD CLEARANCE SLIP*:

– Navigate to Process NERD Clearance to view your submission.

– Add Supervisor and HOD details using Affirm Supervisors.

– Return to Process Clearance and select Print Clearance.

– Once verified, a NERD Compliance Clearance Slip with a unique National Document Number (NDN) will be generated, which can be printed, saved as PDF, or shared via email.

Graduating students are encouraged to complete the upload early to avoid last-minute issues or delays in NYSC processing.
