TASUED ANNOUNCES 17TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY

The Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, has announced the programme of events for its 17th Convocation Ceremony for the award of Higher Degrees, Honoris Causa, Diplomas and admission to First Degrees.

The announcement was made by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Adekunle Olarenwaju Adeogun, FISN, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students of the University. The convocation activities will hold between Friday, 23rd and Thursday, 29th January, 2026.

According to the schedule, activities will commence on Friday, 23rd January, 2026, with a Press Parley at the Academic Building by 11:00am. This will be followed on Sunday, 25th January, 2026, by a Special Jumat Service at the TASUED Mosque from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, and an Interdenominational Christian Service at the TASUED Christian Chapel from 10:00am to 12 noon.

On Monday, 26th January, 2026, the University will host a Convocation Drama at the University Auditorium between 12:00pm and 2:00pm, while the Vice Chancellor’s Football Competition will take place at the Sports Complex from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Activities continue on Tuesday, 27th January, 2026, with a Health Walk at the Sports Complex from 8:00am to 10:00am, an Alumni Cocktail at the Academic Building from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and an Exhibition at the Quadrangle Garden from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

The main convocation ceremonies will hold at the University Auditorium, with the Undergraduate Convocation scheduled for Wednesday, 28th January, 2026, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The Postgraduate Convocation and Award of Honorary Degrees (Honoris Causa) will take place on Thursday, 29th January, 2026, from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Guests are expected to be seated by 9:00am prompt on both days.

All graduands, alumni, students, parents, guardians and members of the general public are cordially invited to attend the ceremonies.

Meanwhile, the University has directed all graduands to pay a sum of ₦10,000 online for the collection of academic gowns. Payments are to be made via the University portal (www.my.tasued.edu.ng) using a MasterCard or Visa card. Printed payment receipts must be endorsed at the University Bursary before gowns and invitation cards can be collected at the respective Colleges or Postgraduate College between 20th and 27th January, 2026. The University stressed that academic gowns and invitation cards will not be released by proxy.

Graduands are also advised to return their academic gowns on or before Wednesday, 4th February, 2026, to their respective College Officers or the Secretary of the Postgraduate College. Late returns will attract a penalty of ₦1,000 per day.
