Fountain University today matriculated 774 new students, marking the highest intake recorded in the University. The matriculation ceremony, which took place at the Amina Namadi Sambo Hall was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, members of the universityβs management team, faculty members, and parents of the matriculating students.
The new students, who were admitted across five colleges, namely College of Arts and Education, College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences, College of Law, College of Management and Social Sciences, and College of Natural and Applied Sciences, were welcomed to the university community with a breakdown of 79, 272, 50, 242, and 131 students respectively.
In her address, themed βEmbracing Academic Excellence, Character and Spiritual Growthβ, Prof. Karim congratulated the students on their admission to the university, noting that their journey at Fountain University is more than an academic pursuit. βIt is a transformative experience that will shape your intellectual, moral, and spiritual development,β she said.
The Vice Chancellor, who is welcoming her second cohort of students since assuming duties, encouraged the students to embrace all activities that will shape them into well-rounded individuals with a strong sense of purpose, discipline, and social responsibility. She emphasized the importance of academic excellence, character, and spiritual growth, urging the students to take advantage of the universityβs resources and opportunities to develop their full potential.
The matriculation ceremony marked a significant milestone in the universityβs history, with a record intake of 774 students, surpassing last yearβs figure of 545. This achievement alludes to the universityβs growing reputation as a center of academic excellence and its commitment to providing quality education to students from diverse backgrounds.
