The University of Ilorin clarified that admission for the 2025/2026 academic session will be based on a combined aggregate score, not solely on the Post-UTME result. This means that regardless of how high or low a candidate scores in the Post-UTME examination, the final decision will be determined by the weighted aggregate of three key components.
According to the University’s admission guidelines:
UTME/Direct Entry score — 50%
Post-UTME screening score — 30%
Five (5) relevant O’level grades — 20%
This system ensures that candidates are evaluated holistically, taking into account their performance across multiple assessments rather than focusing on a single test.
The University also warned that wrong entries or incorrect details during registration will automatically disqualify a candidate. Applicants are therefore strongly advised to double-check all information entered on the portal to avoid costly mistakes.
The University management has reiterated its commitment to a transparent and merit-based admission process.
