The Vice-Chancellor has noted with deep concern the recently held programme tagged “Freshers” Night” organised by the Executive Council of the Redeemer’s University Students’ Association (RUNSA). The conduct, content, and overall nature of the event were in clear contravention of the University’s faith-based values, behavioural expectations, and established guidelines for student activities.
Regrettably, the programme attracted widespread circulation on social media, portraying the University in a manner inconsistent with our mission, core values, and public image. This development has brought the institution into disrepute and compromised the standards we uphold.
Following a thorough review of the incident and in line with the University’s commitment to maintaining discipline, integrity, and accountability among the student body, the Vice-Chancellor has approved the immediate dissolution of the RUNSA Executive Council with effect from today, 28th November, 2025.
Interim administrative arrangements will be announced shortly to ensure continuity of essential student governance functions while in due course, a new leadership framework will be constituted in strict compliance with University regulations.
The University reassures all students of its unwavering commitment to fostering a wholesome, supportive, and ethically grounded learning environment. We urge the entire community to remain focused, uphold our values, and contribute positively to the name and mission of Redeemer’s University.
All staff and students are enjoined to take note and comply accordingly.
