The Federal Government has launched the Renewed Hope Campus Transport Scheme, deploying 240 solar-powered electric tricycles to 12 federal universities to ease student transportation and promote clean, affordable mobility.
Each university receives 20 tricycles and one solar-powered charging station. The units will be operated by Student Union Governments at reduced fares to ensure affordability and generate funds for maintenance and expansion.
Complementary initiatives include 2,000 free CNG vehicle conversions for university staff and an 11MW solar mini-grid for UNILAG. The Federal Government reaffirms its commitment to student welfare, clean energy, and sustainable innovation.
The 12 federal universities benefiting from the Renewed Hope Campus Transport Scheme, each receiving 20 solar-powered electric tricycles, are:
