AL-HIKMAH UNIVERSITY, ILORIN GETS 17 NEW PROFESSORS

The Governing Council of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, at the end of its 77th (Emergency) meeting, held on Tuesday, 17th February, 2026, has approved the recommendations of the University’s Appointments and Promotions Committee, (A&PC), under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lateef Oladimeji, the elevation of five (5) academic staff to the rank of full Professor and twelve (12) academic staff to the rank of Reader.

The newly promoted professors are Prof. Taiye Samuel Abejide, Department of History & International Studies; Prof. Aminu Abdul-Salam Atotileto, Department of Languages (Arabic Unit); Prof. Saidat Oluwatoyin Onikosi-Alliyu, Economics Department; Prof. Tajudeen Adejare Adegbite, Accounting Department and Prof. Oluwayemisi Beatrice Ibitoye, Department of Biological Sciences.

Those promoted to the rank of Reader are Dr. Uthman Tosho Abdulrauf, Computer Science Department; Dr. Hameed Olalekan Bolaji, Science Education Department; Dr. Semiu Olawale Makinde, Science Education Department; Dr. Rasheedat Modupe Oladimeji, Educational Management & Counselling Department; and Dr. Adeseko Sunday Olaifa of the Department of Educational Management and Counselling.

Dr. Suleiman Yusuf of the Department of Educational Management & Counselling; Dr. Hamzah Abdurraheem of Languages Department (EnglishUnit); Dr. Abdur-Rauf Babalola of the Economics Department; Dr. Bolatito Amudalat Brimah in the Department of Business Administration; Dr. Azeez Tunbosun of Business Administration Department; Dr. Abdulai Agbaje Salami, Accounting Department, and Dr. Mansurat Bolanle Falana of Biological Sciences Department were also elevated to the rank of Reader in Alhikmah University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lateef Oladimeji, on behalf of the management of Al-Hikmah University, felicitates with the newly promoted academic staff on their well-deserved elevation to the professorial cadre.
