The Senate of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) has officially expelled 20 students found guilty of various examination offenses.
A statement issued by the university’s Director of Information and Protocol, Nasiru Abdul, confirmed that the decision followed the recent findings of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee. The Senate, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman, acted in line with the university’s regulations on academic misconduct.
Prof. Othman emphasized that the measure was necessary to uphold the integrity of the institution’s examination system and to serve as a warning to students against violating examination rules. He also commended the Disciplinary Committee for their adherence to due process, fairness, and justice in handling the cases.
The statement further revealed that the students were given the opportunity to appear before the Committee to present their defense. Additionally, the university reminded students that compliance with the academic policy, including a minimum of 75 percent lecture attendance to qualify for exams, remains mandatory.
