NYSC Relocates Orientation Camps in Kwara, Kaduna Over Insecurity, Spends ₦500m on Corps Members’ Medical Bills

The (NYSC) has relocated orientation camps in several states, including Kwara and Kaduna, citing rising security challenges in parts of the country.

The scheme explained that the decision was taken to ensure the safety of corps members during the orientation exercise. Affected participants are being moved to alternative camps in more secure locations, with adequate arrangements made to support a smooth programme.

NYSC authorities reiterated that the protection of corps members remains a top priority, especially amid growing security concerns in some regions. The management assured that the relocation would not disrupt the orientation schedule, as necessary logistics have been put in place.

The scheme also disclosed that over ₦500 million has been spent on medical care for corps members. The expenditure covers treatment for illnesses, emergencies, and other health-related issues recorded during the service year.

Officials added that healthcare services at orientation camps and places of primary assignment have been strengthened to ensure corps members receive timely and proper medical attention.

The development highlights ongoing efforts by the NYSC to enhance both the safety and welfare of corps members nationwide.
