The outgoing President of the University of Ilorin Student Union, Mr Idris Oluwaseun Adelu, has commended the management of the University for the remarkable improvement recorded in the conduct of the 2025/2026 Rain Semester examinations, describing the exercise as seamless, well-coordinated and more student-friendly.
Speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin last Tuesday (July 7, 2026) after monitoring the examination process, Mr Adelu said the Computer-Based Test (CBT) system has undergone a significant transformation compared to previous sessions, with better organisation, improved scheduling and reduced congestion at the University’s CBT Centre.
According to him, unlike in previous years when the CBT Centre was often overcrowded during General Studies (GST) and other large-enrolment examinations, the University has introduced a more structured timetable that allocates different examination schedules to Faculties, making the process smoother and more efficient.
He noted that the new arrangement has enabled students to access the CBT Centre with ease, while examination officials have effectively managed the exercise, resulting in a hitch-free examination process.
The student leader praised the University for what he described as a “powerful transformation” in the administration of examinations, adding that the improvements have enhanced the overall experience for students.
While appreciating the efforts of the University management and staff of the CBT Centre, he urged them to sustain the momentum, stressing that although the system has improved significantly, it can become even better in future examination sessions.
On the conduct of written examinations, Mr Adelu said the long-standing examination regulations of the University, particularly the requirement for students to arrive at examination venues at least 30 minutes before commencement, have continued to ensure orderly and coordinated examinations processes.
He observed that students have largely complied with the guidelines by arriving early at examination venues, thereby facilitating proper seating arrangements and smooth commencement of examinations.
He also commended examination officials, lecturers and students for their commitment to maintaining discipline and adhering to examination regulations.
Mr Adelu expressed optimism that the remaining examinations would continue peacefully and successfully, while encouraging all stakeholders to sustain the high standards already recorded during the ongoing examination exercise.
