The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has commenced the application process for intra-university transfer for the 2026/2027 academic session, providing students who wish to change their programmes with an opportunity to apply.
The exercise is open to eligible students seeking to move from one academic programme to another within the university.
According to the university’s transfer guidelines, the application portal is now open and will close on November 1, 2026.
Interested students have been advised to first obtain an assurance of acceptance from the department they intend to transfer to before submitting their applications.
As part of the process, applicants are expected to meet with the Head of Department (HOD) of their preferred programme to determine their eligibility and confirm any additional requirements for the proposed transfer.
Students are advised to carefully establish their eligibility before proceeding with the online application.
After obtaining the required assurance from the intended department, students can proceed to their university portal to submit their applications.
Applicants are expected to log into the portal, select “Programme Change Requests” and complete the required information to initiate the transfer request.
The university has advised applicants to ensure that the information supplied during the application is accurate and that they follow the stipulated procedure.
Students should also note that a ₦10,000 change-of-programme fee will be payable after acceptance into the new department has been granted.
The payment is therefore tied to successful acceptance by the intended department and forms part of the formal transfer process.
The intra-university transfer application portal will remain open until November 1, 2026.
Students interested in changing their programmes are encouraged to begin the process early to allow sufficient time to obtain departmental approval and complete the online application before the deadline.
