The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has intensified preparations for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), following a meeting between its Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, and the leadership of the Chief External Examiners (CEE) to confirm their readiness for the accreditation of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

The engagement forms part of the Board’s early preparations to ensure that only qualified and adequately equipped CBT centres are approved to host candidates during the forthcoming examination.
According to the information released by the Board, the meeting also produced an agreement on the submission of early accreditation reports and the provision of precise locations of approved examination centres to enable candidates to identify their examination venues ahead of the UTME.
The accreditation exercise is a critical component of JAMB’s examination quality-assurance process, as it is designed to assess the suitability, technical capacity and operational readiness of centres before they are authorised to conduct the examination.
JAMB has maintained that centres must satisfy its prescribed standards before they can be accredited to participate in the 2027 UTME.
