The authorities of the University of llorin has named a Deputy Bursar and Head of the Finance Unit, Institute of Education, University of Ilorin, Mr. Abdulbarki Oba, as Ag. Bursar of the University.
The appointment of the versatile financial technocrat is contained in a letter addressed to him dated October 23, 2023.
This is contained in a letter signed by the Registrar of the University, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla.Alfanla explained that the appointment took effect from last Wednesday, November 1, 2023, following the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Hakeem Olalekan Sonde on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
The acting Bursar Is a Chartered Accountant, whom, after his NYSC with NNPC, had a stint in the solid minerals industry before joining the services of the University of Ilorin as an Accountant | in March 1999 and rose to the position of a Deputy Bursar in 2016.
A 1994 graduate of Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Mr Oba has cut a niche for himself in the Public Financial Management space with his involvement in managing the present and creating the future at UNILORIN. His forte includes infinite patience and precise attention to details. He has headed the Ledger & Final Accounts (2006 – 2011 and 2012 — 2015); Salaries, Loans & Advances (2011 — 2012); Finance Controller, College of Health Sciences (201 5201 7); Treasury from 2017 to 2020 . Mr Oba, who taught Management Accounting at ICAN/NNDC Study Centre, Ilorin between 2011 and 2013, is a resource person with the Centre for Research, Development and Inhouse Training (CREDIT), UNILORIN.
