The vice chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has said 180 students of the school will graduate with first-class degrees during its upcoming 38th convocation.
The VC disclosed this during the pre-convocation press briefing on Monday in Kano.
He said 317 and 3,770 graduates will receive doctorate and master’s degrees respectively.
He said Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, will deliver the convocation lecture titled, “Role of private sector in building a sustainable knowledge economy in Nigeria”.
Prof. Abbas said this year, the institution will honour the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adeshina with honorary doctorate awards.
He said, “This year, we have a total of 11,284 students that are going to graduate and be given their degrees.”
