FUOYE EXPELS 5 STUDENTS, SUSPENDS 152 OTHERS FOR EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE

The Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has taken decisive action against examination malpractice by expelling five students and suspending 152 others. This was announced in a statement issued by the universityʼs Academic Affairs Office.

According to the statement, the expulsion and suspension were approved following the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC). The university emphasized that both the expelled and suspended students were penalized for various offences related to examination malpractice.

The students expelled with immediate effect are: 1. Okeredima Delight Ozioma (Social Sciences/Sociology) 2. Akanmu Yusuf Adeyinka (Civil Engineering) 3. Lateef Jimoh (Social Sciences/Economics) 4. Adams Tijani (Science/Mathematics)

In addition to the expulsions, 152 students have been suspended for periods ranging from one to two semesters, depending on the severity of their offences. FUOYE reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of indiscipline, underscoring its commitment to producing graduates who excel in both character and learning.

The university stated, “We will continue to advance in providing quality education and fostering innovation.” This move highlights FUOYEʼs dedication to maintaining academic integrity and upholding high standards within its academic community.
