JAMB DEPLOYS 3,000 PROCTORS FOR 2026 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has trained and deployed no fewer than 3,000 Proctors for the upcoming 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The training exercise was part of measures geared towards conducting a seamless 2026 UTME. During the training, participants were briefed on the new and Alternate Test Engine that had been introduced into the examination ecosystem among other useful information capable of enhancing the sanctity of the Board’s examinations.

The virtual training, which saw participants grouped into zones, was held on Wednesday 25th, March, 2026, with all Chief External Examiners and Chief Technical Advisors (CTA) in attendance.

In his remarks on the occasion, the Registrar thanked the Chief External Examiners (CEES) comprising mainly Vice Chancellor, Rectors and Provosts across the country, for recommending and appointing Proctors, who are staff of their respective institutions for the critical national assignment.

He urged the participants to make integrity their watchword as well as being good ambassadors of their various institutions.

“As Proctors, you need to see your role as a privileged one as you have been selected based on your integrity and dedication to duty and I want to believe that you will see your job as a call to national service,” he said.

The training, which was anchored by the Board’s IT Consultant, Information Technology (IT), Mr. Damilola Bamiro, centred on computer appreciation, vigilance, Roles of Proctors prior, during and after examination coupled with how to solve seemingly-intractable problems during the examination.
Furthermore, Bamiro urged the examination officials to be punctual, display a high sense of moral integrity, professionalism and familiarity with all the rules and regulations of the examination for them to perform their roles satisfactorily.
