JAMB INTRODUCES ALTERNATE EXAMINATION ROUTE FOR 2026 UTME

As part of efforts to safeguard the integrity of its examinations and enhance the well-being and security of its personnel, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced an alternate examination route for the 2026 Mock UTME and UTME.

In addition, the Board has commenced intensive sensitisation and training of examination officials to equip them with the requisite knowledge for the operation of the new testing system.

The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a training session for Technical Officers and Biometric Verification Registration Officers held nationwide on 16th March 2026.

The session provided an opportunity to acquaint participants with the fundamentals of the new testing approach. The Registrar emphasised that the initiative is aimed at strengthening the security of both personnel and examination equipment.

He further noted that the introduction of the alternate examination route is also intended to reduce operational stress on officials while ensuring a more efficient and secure examination process.
