The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for Unity Schools.
The Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, made this known during a press briefing on the outcome of the examination on Tuesday.
Recall that this year’s examination was written on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Nigeria, as well as Benin Republic and Togo.
66,931 students took the exam, 4,360 did not show up, and 71,291 candidates registered for the 2024 NCEE, according to Babs Reporting.
The Minister disclosed that, of the 210 possible points, one applicant had the highest score of 203, while 13 candidates received the lowest possible score of 1.
“A record-breaking 52 candidates—two from Lagos State and fifty from Rivers State—were involved in examination malpractice this year,” the Minister stated.
He also mentioned that, as always, 60% of the admissions process will be determined by merit.
