In line with the directives of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to all its affiliate via its letter dated 31st May 2024 to commence an indefinite nationwide strike beginning from Monday the 3rd day of June, 2024, as a result of the failure of the Nigerian state to agree on a new national minimum wage; reverse the hike in electricity tariff and to stop the apartheid categorization of Nigerian electricity consumers into Bands.
Subsequently, the SSANU National body has directed all SSANU members in the Universities and InterUniversities Centre to comply with the directives of NLC by embarking on an indefinite strike and to ensure the comprehensive closure of workplace with effect from Monday 3rd June, 2024 until further
notice.
We are by this letter directing all members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, to proceed on a total and comprehensive indefinite strike with effect from Monday, 3rd June, 2024, until further notice.
This is in compliance with the directive from our National Body.
