The Senate of the University of Ilorin, at its 304th meeting on Thursday, approved the appointment of three retired academics as emeritus professors.
The appointees are Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, Prof. Olu Obafemi, and Prof. Musbau Akanji. This was disclosed in a statement by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun .
Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, who retired in October 2024, is a former Vice-Chancellor of the university and currently serves as the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Prof. Olu Obafemi, are renowned scholar of English and Dramatic Literature, retired from the University of Ilorin in 2020.
Prof. Musbau Akanji, a renowned biochemist, is a former Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, and the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He retired in 2021.
The appointments recognize their outstanding contributions to academia and their fields of expertise.
