UNILORIN introduces courier service for collection of certificates

In a bid to adopt international best practices, the University of Ilorin has introduced a system by which unclaimed certificates could be collected through courier service.

The Registrar of the University, Mr Mansur Alfanla, said in a memo he sent out last Friday (January 3, 2025) that this move would allow prospective collectors to receive their certificates through courier delivery. This is a departure from the University’s previous policy of not allowing third-party collection.

The memo added that “to collect their certificates, interested individuals are required to submit the following documents to the Registrar’s Office:

– Statement of Result (Original Copy)

– Court Affidavit

– Indemnity Form (downloadable, to be filled and attached)

– Data Page of Valid International Passport (for applicants in the diaspora)

“Applicants can access payment requirements, indemnity letters, and courier service charges through a provided link.

“For those who prefer physical collection, the University has arranged for collection to take place at the University Auditorium (Basement) on Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“This development is expected to bring convenience to graduates and alumni of the university, especially those residing outside the country.”

It will be recalled that the Registrar had, in an earlier memo on December 18, 2024, advised all graduates of the University who are yet to collect their certificates to do so on or before Friday, January 17, 2025 as a fine of ₦3,000.00 per week will be imposed on unclaimed certificates after the deadline.
