The University of Uyo has formally Matriculated 10,148 Students for the 2021/2022 academic session.
The number is a drop of two percent, compared to that of 2020/2021 academic year, when 12,193 were admitted into the University.
At the ceremony on Friday, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Professor Nyaudho Ndaeyo congratulated the matriculating students and tasked them to be disciplined and respect constituted authorities, as certificates of the University of Uyo are awarded based on character and learning.
He encouraged the new intakes to be proud of the opportunity to be students of the University of Uyo, which is now occupying an enviable position in the comity of Nigerian Universities.
The Vice Chancellor advised them to live up to the matriculation oath, as his administration has zero tolerance to any form of anti-social behavior and any breach of the rules and regulations of the university of Uyo, would attract appropriate sanctions.
The Acting Registrar of the University, Mr. Linus Okoko administered the matriculation oath on the students, after they were presented by their Deans to the Vice Chancellor who formally admitted them to the full membership of University.The 10,148 students were admitted into the 14 Faculties and School of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, as well as Postgraduate School.
Of the number, 9,339 nine thousand are in fulltime undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while 809 are doing part time programmes.
The matriculation which is 29th in the series, marked the end of the 2021/2022 admission into the University of Uyo.
