The 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has commenced across Nigeria with what officials and observers have described as a largely smooth and well-coordinated start.

The examination, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), began in accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide, with candidates turning out in large numbers to participate in the crucial entry assessment for tertiary education.
Early reports from multiple states indicate that the exercise kicked off on schedule in most centres, with minimal technical disruptions recorded. Candidates were seen arriving promptly, complying with verification procedures, and settling into examination halls in an orderly manner.

As the exercise progresses, JAMB has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, efficiency, and fairness throughout the examination process
Further updates are expected as the nationwide exercise progresses.
