The Plateau State Commissioner for Education has conducted an extensive tour of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Jos and other parts of the state to ensure the smooth, safe, and secure conduct of the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The inspection exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Plateau State Ministry of Education, was aimed at assessing the level of compliance with examination guidelines, as well as the adequacy of security arrangements put in place for candidates and officials.
During the visits, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the examination, noting that adequate measures had been implemented to guarantee a hitch-free process. He emphasized that the state government remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote academic excellence and safeguard students’ welfare.

In a coordinated effort to strengthen security, the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, also deployed personnel to all CBT centres across the state. The police presence was described as strategic, ensuring strict surveillance, crowd control, and rapid response to any potential security concerns.
Candidates at various centres expressed confidence in the process, citing the visible security presence and efficient coordination as factors contributing to a stress-free examination experience.
The Commissioner reiterated the importance of maintaining discipline and integrity throughout the exercise, while urging candidates to remain focused and adhere strictly to all examination rules.
