The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to convene its highly anticipated 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria today, marking the official commencement of the nation’s admission process for the 2026 academic session.

The event, scheduled to hold at the Hairat Ade Balogun Auditorium, Body of Benchers Headquarters, Abuja, will also feature the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit (NATAP-M) Awards.
The meeting is being hosted under the leadership of the JAMB Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, and is expected to bring together major stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector, including vice-chancellors, rectors, provosts, heads of regulatory agencies, and policymakers.
Top on the agenda will be the determination of the minimum admissible scores for universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions for the 2026 admission cycle.
The Board is also expected to unveil critical admission guidelines, timelines, deadlines, and official statistics from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), including data on candidates’ performances nationwide.
In addition, institutions are anticipated to begin releasing Post-UTME and screening updates immediately after the meeting, while processes such as change of course and institution are expected to commence shortly thereafter.
