The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has approved the expulsion of 42 students from the institution over their involvement in examination malpractice.
A statement issued and signed by the Principal Assistant Registrar, Academic Board Matters Division, Mr. Ibrahim Esin, disclosed that after a thorough investigation by the Polytechnic Examination Malpractice Committee, the affected students were found guilty of the allegations levelled against them, which were contrary to the Matriculation Oath they swore to.
It added that the expulsion of the 42 students, comprising 31 Higher National Diploma (HND) students and 11 National Diploma (ND) students, was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Polytechnic Students’ Handbook.
The statement further disclosed that 8 of the expelled students were from the Institute of Technology (IOT), 4 from the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT), 23 from the Institute of Finance and Management Studies (IFMS), 2 from the Institute of Health Technology (IHT), 1 from the Institute of General Studies (IGS) and 4 from the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE).

The affected students have ceased to be students of the Polytechnic and have been directed to hand over all Polytechnic properties in their possession to their respective Heads of Department or the relevant Polytechnic authorities.
