OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY (OAU) ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR 65TH ANNIVERSARY

The Management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has officially announced the commencement of activities marking the institution’s historic 65th Anniversary Celebration.

In an official invitation released by the Anniversary Celebration Committee chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor G. A. Aderounmu the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, cordially invites all Provosts, Deans, Directors, staff, students, and the general public to actively participate in this milestone event.

The week-long celebration is specially designed to commemorate the remarkable journey, outstanding achievements, and enduring legacy of the University as a foremost institution of higher learning in Nigeria and beyond.

The festivities will officially kick off with a Press Conference addressed by the Vice-Chancellor on Monday, 1st June, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. inside Floor O, Room 5.

Important Notice to All Staff and Students

Special Dress Code for Cultural Day (Day 4): Management has explicitly noted that all staff and students are required to wear their indigenous (native) attires on Thursday, June 4, to beautifully showcase and celebrate our rich African diversities.
