The University of Ilorin Students’ Union, under the leadership of the New Dawn Administration, has successfully commissioned the renovated and rebranded Students’ Union Building as part of its commitment to infrastructural development and improved student experience.
The project, officially commissioned by the Vice Chancellor of the University, represents a major capital development initiative aimed at enhancing the functionality, appearance, and overall standard of the Students’ Union environment.
As part of the renovation, the Union Hall was upgraded with large-screen televisions and improved seating arrangements to create a more conducive atmosphere for student engagements, meetings, congresses, and other union activities. The entire building also received a complete facelift through repainting and structural rebranding, giving it a modern and professional outlook.
In preserving the history and identity of the Union, pictorial representations highlighting notable moments, achievements, and memories in the history of the University of Ilorin Students’ Union were strategically displayed within the building.
A major highlight of the project is the successful transition of the building to a fully solar-powered system. This development reflects the administration’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and uninterrupted functionality of union operations.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Dean and Sub-Deans of Student Affairs, members of the University Management, the Central Executive Council, Judicial Council, Senate Council, and several students who witnessed the landmark achievement.
The project stands as a reflection of the administration’s dedication to impactful leadership, institutional development, and the creation of lasting structures that will benefit present and future generations of Unilorites.
