The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, Second Series, commonly known as WAEC GCE.
The new registration deadline is Friday, August 28, 2026, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their registration. WAEC announced the extension on Saturday, August 15.
Candidates who are yet to register are advised to take advantage of the extension and complete their applications before the new deadline.
The 2026 WAEC GCE is expected to be conducted as a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), with the examination scheduled for September/October 2026.
