The Federal Government has approved ₦2 billion naira each as take-off grants for the Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe (Lagos State), and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic, Abuja.
The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, who disclosed this during the inauguration of key officials appointed to lead the two institutions, noted that the funding will support the institutions’ early operations, infrastructure setup, and rapid development, aligning with efforts to boost science, technology, and technical education nationwide.
Among those inaugurated were Professor Nosiru Onibon, who will serve as the pioneer Rector of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic, Abuja; Professor Adeola Oshikoya, appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe; and Dr Angela Ajala, who assumed office as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education.
Presenting the letters of appointment in Abuja, Alausa urged the new leaders to build solid foundations, stating that every child in this country deserves access to world-class education. On their part, the appointees pledged to deliver impactful institutions that advance Nigeria’s development goals, reinforcing the administration’s investments in tertiary education leadership and resources.
