The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled its annual policy meeting for May 11, where key stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector will deliberate and decide on the official cut-off marks for the 2026 admission cycle.

The policy meeting, which brings together vice-chancellors, rectors, provosts, and heads of regulatory agencies, is a critical platform for determining the minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scores required for admission into tertiary institutions across the country.
During the meeting, participants will agree on a general benchmark for admissions, after which individual institutions will be allowed to set their specific cut-off marks in line with the approved guidelines.

The outcome of the meeting is expected to shape admission processes into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2026 academic session.
JAMB has advised candidates and the public to await the official resolutions from the meeting and disregard speculative cut-off figures currently circulating in the public space.
