ICPC, NABTEB Strengthen Partnership to Combat Examination Malpractice and Academic Fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) have reaffirmed their commitment to tackling examination malpractice and academic fraud across Nigeria.

The renewed collaboration was announced during a courtesy visit by the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner for Edo State, Adenekan Shogunle, to the NABTEB Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed Aminu, in Benin City.

Shogunle described examination malpractice as a major threat to professional competence and public trust, highlighting ICPC’s efforts in investigation, public enlightenment, and corruption prevention.

In response, Aminu reaffirmed NABTEB’s commitment to conducting credible examinations through technology-driven monitoring and intelligence-led strategies. He also requested ICPC’s support in providing discreet surveillance of examination centres nationwide and called for anti-corruption sensitisation programmes for NABTEB staff.

Both organisations pledged to sustain their collaboration to promote integrity, accountability, and excellence in Nigeria’s technical and vocational education system.
