Bayero University Kano (BUK), on Thursday, 16 July 2026, formally matriculated newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session during a colourful ceremony held at the University.
The matriculation ceremony marks the official admission of new students into the University’s academic community. It is a significant tradition in higher education during which students take the Matriculation Oath, pledging loyalty to the University, adherence to its rules and regulations, and commitment to pursuing their studies with honesty, discipline, and integrity.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, warmly welcomed the students and congratulated them on securing admission into Bayero University Kano. He urged them to remain focused on their academic pursuits, uphold the University’s values, and make productive use of the opportunities available to them.
Professor Haruna Musa noted that Bayero University Kano has continued to distinguish itself nationally and internationally, describing it as one of Nigeria’s leading universities with an outstanding international outlook and a strong reputation for academic excellence. He encouraged the new students to work hard and contribute positively to sustaining the University’s legacy of excellence.
