JAMB DEBUNKS FAKE 396 UTME SCORE

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as false a purported UTME result slip circulating online, which claims that a candidate scored 396 in the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a statement issued by Fabian Benjamin, the Board described the document as a clear fabrication, expressing concern that such misinformation is being widely shared, even among otherwise informed members of the public.

JAMB clarified that all UTME results currently released are strictly view-only, making the existence of any printable result slip at this stage inherently suspicious. The Board further noted that the circulated document was presented on a fake template, which alone invalidates its authenticity.

Additionally, the Board pointed out discrepancies in the registration number format used on the fake slip. According to JAMB, authentic registration numbers are system-generated and do not follow the pattern “20269” as seen in the forged document. Several other inconsistencies were also identified, which, upon closer inspection, clearly expose the result as fraudulent.

The Board has therefore urged the public to disregard the fake result and to rely solely on official platforms for accurate and verified information.
