The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rewarded outstanding tertiary institutions with multi-million naira grants at the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit (NATAP-M) Awards held alongside the 2026 Admission Policy Meeting in Abuja.

At the event, University of Jos (UNIJOS) emerged the biggest beneficiary, receiving a massive ₦500 million award in recognition of its exceptional performance within the nation’s admission system.
Other institutions also received substantial financial rewards for their contributions and performance in the admission process.
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) was awarded ₦40 million, while University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Akwa Ibom State University, and Lagos State University (LASU) each received ₦25 million.
The NATAP-M Awards were introduced by JAMB to promote transparency, merit, compliance, and excellence in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.
The awards ceremony formed part of activities at the annual policy meeting, where major decisions concerning the 2026 admission exercise were also finalized.
