The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who encounter biometric verification challenges during the ongoing 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be rescheduled, provided their cases are confirmed to be genuine.

The Board clarified that candidates who are unable to complete biometric authentication at their designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres will not be automatically disqualified. Instead, they will be given another opportunity to sit for the examination after due verification of their claims.
However, JAMB emphasized that affected candidates must undergo a compulsory recapturing process at their examination centres before leaving the premises. This step, according to the Board, is critical in documenting and validating each case to ensure that only legitimate candidates are considered for rescheduling.

As the 2026 UTME continues nationwide, the Board has assured candidates that adequate mechanisms are in place to address technical concerns while preserving the integrity of the examination system.
