The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (N&MCN) has officially released the results of the May 2026 Professional Examination for General and Post-Basic Nursing Programmes, with an overall pass rate of 69 percent.

According to an official statement issued by the Council’s Registrar/CEO, Ndagi Alhassan, a total of 11,835 candidates were successful across various nursing programmes nationwide.
A breakdown of the results showed that the General Nursing Programme recorded 9,906 successful candidates, representing a 70 percent pass rate.
For the Foreign Trained Nursing (FTN) category, 308 candidates passed, accounting for 52 percent success rate, while the Post Basic Nursing Programmes recorded 775 successful candidates, representing the highest pass rate of 72 percent.
The Community Nursing Programme also recorded 846 successful candidates, translating to a 58 percent pass rate.
The Council directed heads of nursing training institutions to begin checking their institutions’ results online from Wednesday, May 13, 2026, through the official examination portal.
Successful candidates have also been advised to proceed to the Council’s registration portal to commence online registration and licensing processes.
The Council further warned that all registration formalities, including payment of registration fees, must be completed within 90 days from the date of result release, noting that late registration would attract penalty charges.
