The Chairman of the University of Ilorin Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre, Prof. Adeyinka Tella, has assured stakeholders that the Centre would continue to deliver quality services.

Prof. Tella gave this assurance last Tuesday (April 21, 2026) while featuring on ‘Oro to n lo’, a popular current affairs programme on UNILORIN 89.3 FM. The programme was anchored by the General Manager of the Station, Mr Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Alooma).
While describing the just-concluded semester test conducted at the Centre as a huge success, Prof. Tella, who also spoke with UNILORIN Bulletin on the same issue penultimate Wednesday (April 15, 2026), said that the Centre remains second to none in Nigeria.
The don also said that the Centre is fully prepared for the forthcoming Post-UTME screening for admission seekers into the University.
Speaking on the capacity of the Centre, the award-winning Professor of Library and Information Sciences said that UNILORIN CBT Centre has over 1,650 computers spread across six halls, with each hall housing 275 systems to allow students sit conveniently at once for their examinations or tests.
He noted that the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations held at the University was also a huge success .
According to him, the Centre is second to none in Nigeria in terms of space and state-of-the-art equipment. He added that a dedicated hall is provided for persons with special needs with their welfare well taken care of.
On power supply, Prof. Tella explained that beyond public electricity, the Centre has a standby functional generator, with one hall already solar powered. He disclosed that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has awarded contracts for the remaining halls to be powered by solar, and within the next few weeks the entire CBT Centre would run solely on solar energy. This, he said, would end dependence on diesel purchase and the epileptic supply from IBEDC.
Prof. Tella stressed that exam malpractice is not an issue at the Centre due to measures put in place, including CCTV cameras. He added that results are always released within 24 hours of any examination conducted. Beyond internal exams, he said that the facilities are also used for NECO, JAMB, promotion exercises for agencies such as the military, paramilitary, police, and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN, among others.
The CBT Chairman expressed appreciation to the University management, the CBT Committee, lecturers, staff of the Centre, students, security personnel and other stakeholders for their roles in the success being recorded by the Centre.
